Dandi Swami Shrimad Jyotirmayananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj is a revered disciple of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji Maharaj '1008' and currently serves as the spiritual guide and head of Laksheshwar Dham, Saladha.Under his spiritual leadership, the historic and sacred mission of consecrating 125,000 Shivlings at Laksheshwar Dham is being carried forward. The foundation stone of the temple was laid in the holy presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj and Swami Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji Maharaj '1008' The Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the temple was personally performed by Dandi Swami Shrimad Jyotirmayananda Saraswati Ji Maharajwith traditional Vedic chanting, marking the beginning of this historic spiritual project.
Establishment of 1.25 Lakh Shivlings
Lakheshwar Dham is being built in Salda, where 1.25 lakh (one hundred twenty-five thousand) Shivlings will be enshrined. Asia's largest Shiva temple is being established in Bemetara, Chhattisgarh. Devotees will be able to have darshan of 1.25 lakh Shivlings together at the temple. An amount of five thousand one hundred rupees has been fixed for each Shivling. The Shivling will be dedicated in the name of the person who contributes it.
Historical Significance of the Temple
- •Installation of 1 lakh 25 thousand Shivlings together at one place.
- •Performing worship and circumambulation once yields the merit of 1.25 lakh worships.
- •The committee has fixed an amount of 5100 rupees for each Shivling, which will be established as that person's own deity, just as Lord Ram established a Shivling and it became known as Rameshwar.
- •The construction of the temple will not only be a matter of pride for Bemetara district but will also give the whole of Chhattisgarh a global identity.
- •Devotees will have to walk a distance of 1.25 kilometers to complete the circumambulation of the temple.
Foundation Stone & Blessings
It may be noted that the foundation stone for establishing 1.25 lakh Shivlings and constructing the grand temple at Salda was laid in the presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Maharaj and Swamishri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati '1008'. At the temple site, being built at a cost of approximately 65 crore rupees, Dandi Swami performed the land worship (bhoomi pujan) with Vedic chanting.
Location & Land
Four acres of land on the banks of the Shivnath River, located 17 km from Bemetara and 10 km from Devarbeeja, in the village of Salda, has been received as a donation. The temple being built is considered to be Asia's largest Shiva temple.
Temple Construction
The grand temple is being constructed under the guidance of Dandi Swami. 1.25 lakh Shivlings will be installed in the temple. The temple is being built on 34 thousand square feet.
